We are a Christian ecumenical housing ministry that builds simple, decent, affordable, energy-efficient homes in partnership with qualifying low-income families in Loudon County. Habitat is a "hand-up" not a "handout." It is neighbors helping neighbors. Come on in!

Our values

As a charitable organization that embraces the teachings of Jesus Christ, we invite people of all faiths---or no faith---to partner with us to eliminate poverty housing. We are pledged to the letter and spirit of the Fair Housing Act and other U.S. laws and policies for the achievement of equal housing opportunity. We hold our future homeowners accountable to work their “sweat equity” hours and meet other requirements for homeownership. We sell homes to qualifying families at no profit and they reimburse our expenses through a no-interest mortgage. To learn more about us and the values upon which we build, click here.

Our homes

We build basic homes in partnership with qualifying low-income families. Our homes are attractive and comfortable. We use the latest research in building science to include features that conserve energy, protect the environment, and prevent moisture damage. To see a typical home and floor plan, click here.

Our volunteers

Volunteers---individuals and groups---are the supporting framework of Habitat for Humanity. Wield a paintbrush, a hammer or a pen. Serve lunch or serve on a committee. We have opportunities for everyone who wants to help---regardless of skill level, age, or physical ability. We provide all needed training and tools. Click here to find your place.
