Habitat Mission
Loudon County Habitat for Humanity builds homes and strengthens families and communities. A Habitat house is simple, decent, and affordable. It’s small, low maintenance, and energy efficient. There are no frills—no basement, no garage, and no more than a bath and a half.
This is not a handout. To qualify, partner families must pay a down payment, participate in homeowner education classes, and work at least 350 hours of sweat equity. Then they re-pay a 20-year, no-interest mortgage, which goes back into our building program to build more homes.
Even though we’re affiliated with the international Habitat organization, we must raise all our money locally. We use efficient business practices to coordinate volunteer labor with donations of money and materials. Our Home Store raises a significant amount of money for building. We need your help to eliminate poverty housing in Loudon County. Please join us!
