Welcome to Loudon County Habitat for Humanity serving Loudon County, Tennessee
When asked to express her thoughts about her family’s new home, it only took a moment for the first words to literally jump from Angie Brannon’s mouth.
"We’ll never have to move again!"
Angie is a lifelong resident of Loudon County. However, over the past 10 years she and her sons Eric (17) and Taylor (16) have moved 7 or more times. Prior to moving into their new home in late August, the family was living in a very small, two-bedroom trailer. As if the two teenage boys sharing a bed room was not enough of a challenge, there were much bigger problems in the house.
The trailer had a terrible mold problem. During their time there, the family fought allergy and sinus problems on a regular basis. Between the cramped, moldy space, and the constant instability of moving regularly, Angie looked to Habitat for a hand up in reaching her dream of home ownership.
After completing her sweat equity education requirements, sweat equity hours, and saving the money required for closing, Angie’s dream has come true. Hundreds of volunteers from Farragut Presbyterian and St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church teamed up to provide the volunteer labor to construct Angie’s new home.
To the church families involved in this project, Angie says "What you’ve done means the world to my boys and me. I can’t even come up with the words to describe what this means to us. We have a home where we can be healthy and stable. Thank you so much."
