The Habitat Home Store

The Habitat Home Store is a major source of funds for building Habitat homes in Loudon County.  Because the store is staffed almost entirely by volunteers, its overhead expenses are very low.

The Home Store is open to the public.  Shoppers find a ready source of reasonably priced new and used clothing, household goods, tools, furniture, and other items.  All electronics are tested to be sure they are in working order.  Seasonal and holiday merchandise is available at appropriate times of the year.

The Habitat Home Store accepts payment by cash and major credit card only.  Checks are not accepted.

Your donations of gently used furniture, large and small working appliances, clothing, books, dishes, cooking utensils, flatware, sheets, towels, bedding, drapery, decorative items, baby and children’s clothing, baby beds, car seats, high chairs, toys, tools, yard maintenance equipment, office furniture and equipment, and other such items are welcome.  Please call to schedule a pickup of large or heavy items to donate.  A 3-day advance notice is requested.

Volunteers are needed to work the cash registers and sales floor, to answer the phone, and to work in the back room sorting, pricing and preparing goods for sale.  Volunteers are asked to work a 4-hour shift on a recurring basis so they will be familiar with the store layout and procedures; however, there is flexibility to meet an individual's schedule.  Volunteers are also needed for routine maintenance and upkeep on the store and vehicles.
